This was the day I missed my tour, so… There is barely anything here. Shall we begin?
This is the Pyramid of Caius Cestius… This was about where I was supposed to meet the tour group. There is actually a bus/train stop behind me.
Next to the pyramid was this castle looking thing. Much like Porta Pia from the first album, this is the Porta San Sebastiano, and it was a gate in the old Aurelian wall.
Weird art installation? It’s literally metal lined up for a firing squad with mirrors behind each of the figures. Come on ChatGPT, don’t let me down!
“This striking sculpture is the Monumento ai Caduti di tutte le Guerre — the "Monument to the Fallen of All Wars", located just outside Porta San Sebastiano in Rome.”
Lots of graffiti in Rome. This is just one instance. Smash Patriarchy seems like a good message…
This day I went to grab food at La Pentolaccia (I think), which was right down the street from the hotel… In most cases the food I got was near the hotel… sometimes eating anything has a nasty effect on my digestive system. Anyway, this was the hotel restaurant of Hotel Flavia. It was a classic fettuccine in a butter sauce topped with mushrooms. Very good.
This is the view of the restaurant from where I was sitting. It was really calming…perhaps because I was the only one eating inside.
