Gulden Drak: 9000 Quadruple
So I bought this monster bottle at the same time as I bought the Hoppin’ Frog. I liked the idea of having a quad at the same time as I had a pentuple. If I had more money, I would have added a Trippel as well. But, these two beers cost a little bit of cash, but they came with some high ABVs, so … I’m not complaining too much. I took two pictures for this one. Let’s toss out the first one, shall we?
Behold a small taste of the cluttered landscape of my desk. You can see 4 of my 5 whisky glasses (From Kori Whiskey they are great glasses), you can also see a little bit of my nerdy stuff. I took this picture to demonstrate just how large this bottle is. This bottle is a foot tall, and contains 25.4 oz. An odd number of ounces, but meh. This one bottle contains about as much as the 4 cans from Hoppin’ Frog. You can’t see very well in this picture, but this bottle comes in at a hefty 10.7% ABV, which coming in next to Hoppin Frog actually seems a little light.
And it is really evident when drinking this.
Looking at the two beers side by side, they have almost the same coloration, a nice happy little amber color. This one, does not have the heavy alcoholic bite that the Hoppin Frog had, making this a little easier to drink. This is a good thing, considering that once this bottle is open, there is no stopping until it is finished. Honestly I probably should have used one of my pint glasses for this one.
Frankly, with the ABV on this one, I’d recommend it as a drink for 2 people. It is doable by yourself, but you may end up having a bit of a light head. And with out that boozy punch that the Hoppin Frog had, this one goes down fast.
It is definitely a beer I would recommend. If you can find this, I say go for it! If they make it in a smaller size, I would recommend it even more!
I like this one, I might go get another bottle.
